How webcam business appeared
The webcam business was a follow-up on marriage agencies that bred men for money. The scheme was simple - agencies lured girls with free photo sessions, not necessarily erotic ones. After that they would post the pictures on fake website profiles, there always would be stories about hobbies, professions, and expectations from the chosen one. Sometimes the girls wouldn't even know that they have such profiles, however, usually, those "agencies" would ask for permission to use pictures from the photoshoot.
Men who wanted to chat with potential brides had to pay for each message. Of course, instead of a girl, there would be an agency moderator on the other side of the screen, who would have specific manuals and instructions on how to reply in different situations.
There was also an option to give a gift to a girl: send money for a sex toy, a bouquet, or underwear (interesting categories for a marriage agency). The agency itself promised to be a middleman - to buy and deliver the gifts, but in fact, they just appropriated money. If the girl worked with the site voluntarily, she was asked to thank the man or send a picture with a "gift" for the report. The girl would get a small fee for this.
Obviously, over time, men wanted more. And agencies where girls were aware of what was happening started to offer video chat services. The client paid for every minute of the broadcast. The basic mechanics stayed the same - the operator would correspond in the chat, while the girl would pretend to type in front of the camera. The Agency paid her for it. If the girl wanted, she could offer virtual sex to her client and earn more money.
It was basically sex dating, but without sex.
This is how the webcam business appeared. Personal meetings with clients are usually prohibited for web models. The business is focused only on online communication and virtual sex.
How do webcam websites work?
Webcam sites have profiles of girls and members can chat with anyone. The profile has a photo and the main characteristics: height, weight, hobbies, sexual preferences. The rating of questionnaires depends on the ratings that members put - the frequency of broadcasts, the number of viewers, video quality, and much more. Sometimes the rating is visible to users, sometimes it is not. But the higher the rating, the higher is the profile's position on the site. Obviously, models on the first positions earn the most.
There are three types of webcam sites. On sites of the first type, the model sits in a free chat and waits for members to come to her. Communicates, texts and lures in a private chat with a payment of 2-10 $ per minute. There she already has an obligation to fulfil certain requests for them. Request types are usually published in her profile.
On websites of the second category, members choose models based on photos and immediately go to a paid private chat.
On sites of the third category, the model puts on a show: dancing a Striptease, using sex toys, playing sports, or cleaning without clothes. Only regulations: you can not show blood, even if it is artificial, or use foreign objects instead of toys.
Everyone is able to watch the show for free, even those who are not registered. If the user likes it, he can send a tip to the model. To get more tips, models sell tickets to private shows and connect wireless sex toys. They vibrate with the clink of coins on the site (whole new industry, apparently).
Private chats on such websites are also available, but many models refuse to use them if they have enough rich fans, it is more profitable to work for a wide audience.
A model can register directly on any webcam site. Then she will pay a commission only to the website, which is 50-70% of earnings. It can also work through a studio, but then she will have to pay both the site and the Studio.
